finding it hard to really get started on my thesis cuz its so hard to get in contact with our prospective subjects, and not to mention there is more negative news and negative things about the Philippines than there are positive, but oh well, maybe this thesis will open my eyes to the inherent good that Filipinos posses (which is what everybody says down here but i just don't believe it)
been listening to some good ol hip hop classics like warren g's regulate album and some of r.kelly's old ish, old school r&b, hip hop, and gangsta rap is soo much better than the stuff being put out today.. don't know why, but the classic stuff is really so much better in terms of beats, lyrical content, and originality.. sure a lot of the stuff before was also sampled but it was fresh and unique, not like the stuff now that ja-rule, j.lo (slut) and all these other sell out artists are putting out... surprisingly, the new christina (slut) aguilera album is really really good, though she has gone the way of mariah carey & tony braxton when it comes to the clothing department, i mean non-existent clothing, her album is real soulful and deep.. her song with alicia key's titled "impossible" is really good cuz of her amazing voice and alicia's talent on the piano, the rest of the tracks are really good as well..
just got back from the beach, really nice place! we left yesterday after i got back from my shoot for my thesis, went to this soup kitchen that feeds street children, beggars, and those who are hungry and down on their luck in life, really made me realize how lucky i am and how much poverty affects not only a greater percentage in this country but in others as well, got some good footage but need to go back cuz our interviews didn't come out clear soundwise.. oh well..
when i got back i watched the last few minutes of the houston vs. la game, sure no one can stop shaq but yao did a decent job, i'm getting sick and tired of shaq, his racist comments, his other stupid comments, and his whinning about not having phil jackson as the olympic coach, i think that guy is too full of himself and is a big ass cry baby.. i mean shit, he's blessed with all that talent and size and yet he still has a whinny attitude.. pisses me off!
Ya Yao! Blocked 1st 3 shots of Whinny Daddy!
anyway, the beach we went to was real nice, its kind of a exclusive development where only the rich and famous have houses, but to get to it you have to go through an area where poor people live, quite a contrast, and really makes you think about the injustice surrounding the world... anyway, my family tagged along with my dad's office since they were having a team building session.. really love the beach especially when its clean and well taken care of.. had a good time, but now back to reality and back to school... sucks! here are some pics of the beach and taal volcano.. beach (1, 2, 3, 4) Taal Volcano
