the U.S lost in hoops for the first time since sending pros to the olympics in 1992, but i don't think it was a real shock to anyone, first off they didn't send their best team, and secondly the world is getting so much better! i just feel sorry for them look at lamar and starbury in this pic.. damn..
mystic river... was bored when i got home last night so i slept a bit and then proceeded to watch a movie that i've been wanting to watch for quite awhile.. mystic river.. i heard it was good from several people and so i decided to check it out, and yup a great movie.. a little dragging at parts but the acting in this movie, brilliant! sean penn plays a perfect tormented father who has lost his daughter and seeks revenge on the murderer, and you can almost feel the suffering and agony that tim robbins must have experienced after being abducted as a young boy and kept for four days while two men had their way with him.. great movie, check it out..
i've always been a huge fan of conan o'brien and his various skits, he's just so funny and irreverant at times you can't help but laugh, was lucky enough to catch his show last night and man i almost cried from laughing, he has this segment "if they mated", he finds celebrity couples and superimposes their face to see how their child would like, its horrifying but so funny, unfortunately i had trouble loading some samples so just check this site out If they mated

thank god its friday! looking forward to tonight and the rest of the weekend before work becomes stressful, since our creatives director is leaving and i have to man his post for awhile till we can find a graphic designer..
eternal sunshine... watched "eternal sunshine of the spotless mind" last night, great movie, and even more of an amazing concept.. what if we could erase all memories of a particular person, enemy, or an ex-girlfriend? go through a procedure while you're sleeping and wake up with completely no memory of that person that you had erased?.. for those who haven't seen the movie don't read this then.. but basically thats what happens, jim carey's character joel has his memory of his ex-girlfriend clementine (played by kate winslett) erased after he finds out that she had her memory of him erased as well.. hard to explain fully what happens throughout the movie, but somehow someway eventhough both their memories are erased of each other they end up together anyway.. that of course isn't the entire story and there are many factors that come into play and complicate things but basically its an interesting twist to a surreal concept... in reality though, things like this never happen and happy endings are few and far between (is that the right quote? don't want to sound like more of an idiot than i already am)

history... fabs is gone and just like that its guna be another few years till i see someone from high school again, but man it was a good time when he was here, it was great hanging out with all the jakarta boys here and remembering jis.. went out saturday night cuz it was fab's last night here and we had a good ass time! pcab (paolo cabalfin) treated us the whole night to shots of that german drink jegyermeister (i won't even try spelling it!) so you can imagine how much fun we had, it was great though, no matter who you were or who you hung out with in jis before, whenever you see someone from jis you have that common bond and its like you were bestfriends in high school as well.. although fabs, jay, and i were really good friends in high school, and paolo has always treated me like his little brother despite all the fame and fortune he has experienced here.. just a great time and i'm happy that fabs had a good time here cuz it was the least we could do for him since he came all the way down here... pics http://bug9701.textamerica.com (forgive me but we met quite a few people that night and for some reason they got into the pictures as well.. oh well)

have a new found appreciation for history, Filipino history in particular, went to the veteran's museum (did i even spell that right) today, since Philippine Veterans Bank is now our client, and saw some awesome things, newspapers from 1942 and all this other historical stuff, really makes you appreciate what Filipinos went through just to enjoy freedom.. at the same time, makes you sad to realize that so many people died.. sucks..
